"Our main goal at the beginning of the season was to be in the top six. However, in the current situation, our priority is not to leave the league. Being in eighth place in the tournament table satisfies us in the current circumstances."
These words were said by Safar Atakishiyev, the head coach of "Kür-Araz", who plays in the Second League.
The expert also commented on the heavy 0:14 defeat to "Khankendi" in the last round.
"The score was like that because our main squad players did not participate in this match. Even our captain Elnur Mammadov did not participate in the game. This was a very difficult and upsetting defeat for us. We knew who we were playing against - the opponent is the leader of the tournament table. Nevertheless, we did not want to lose. It's just that this was our current squad. Those who took the field were young football players, they did their best, but it was not enough. We had a bad day," he said in an interview with futbolinfo.az.
Dwelling on the heavy defeat, S.Atakishiyev revealed his plans for his team to prepare for the upcoming games:
"After this, our ability to make serious changes is also limited, because this is our strength. But at least we will try to make some innovations in the training process. To forget this bitter defeat, we will talk to each football player separately and start preparing for the upcoming "Shamkir" game. I hope we will get better results in the next games."
