Manchester United forward Matheus Cunha's celebration after scoring the winning goal against Arsenal (3:2) may cost him dearly. Sport24.az reports that the Brazilian footballer could not control his emotions while celebrating his beautiful goal from outside the penalty area.
He approached the camera and uttered unethical expressions and curses.
Because the footballer's voice was clearly heard on live broadcast, the commentator of the "Sky Sports" channel, which broadcast the match, had to immediately apologize to the audience.
According to the regulations of the Football Association (FA), offensive and rude expressions, as well as such gestures, are considered grounds for a red card or subsequent punishment. It is expected that the Disciplinary Committee will disqualify Cunha after examining the video footage.
It is worth recalling that Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney was previously penalized with a 2-match ban for similar behavior, for using indecent expressions towards the camera. Now Cunha may face the same fate.
