Barcelona defender Jules Kounde explained the reasons for his decision to move to the Catalan club in the summer of 2022, rejecting an offer from Chelsea.
Idman.Biz reports that, according to the player, the dialogue with Barcelona head coach Xavi played a key role in his choice.
"I enjoyed talking to Xavi. Time flew by quickly, and that's always a good sign. We mainly talked about football. I love talking about football, especially with a coach like Xavi, one of the best players in history," Goal newspaper quotes Kounde.
An important factor in Kounde's decision was the different views on his position in the teams. According to the player, he was seen as a flank defender at Chelsea, while at Barcelona the coach imagined him as a central defender. This difference in position was decisive for the footballer.
Jules Kounde moved to Barcelona in July 2022 from the Spanish club Sevilla.
