"It was a difficult game. We all knew the situation. We had to win this match to qualify for the European Cups. I'm happy that we finally managed to do it. I congratulate all the people of Nakhchivan. But we have the last round game ahead - our match with Zira. We have to prepare for that match." These words were said by the Moldovan goalkeeper of the guests, Kristian Avram, in his statement to Sport24.az after the "Shamakhi" - "Araz-Nakhchivan" match (0:1) held in the 35th round of the Misli Premier League.
The 30-year-old goalkeeper also shared his thoughts on "Araz-Nakhchivan" qualifying for the European Cups for the first time in its history:
"This is a historic event for Araz-Nakhchivan. Also, several players of our team have previously played in the European Cups as part of different clubs, and this is a positive thing for us in terms of experience. After the last round game of the Premier League, we will go on vacation. Then we will all concentrate and prepare for our performance in the Conference League."
Avram said that they will also play against Zira to win:
"We should not relax because we have qualified for the Conference League. Zira is a very good opponent. We will do our best to win a point or points in this game as well. Because we are a professional club and we have to play every game to win a result. We want to end the last match of the season on a positive note and go on vacation in a good mood."
It should be noted that the match "Araz-Nakhchivan" - "Zira" will be held on May 25.
