"A Bola" reports that "Vasco da Gama" goalkeeper Bruno Fernandes, sentenced to 22 years and three months in prison for orchestrating the murder of his girlfriend in 2013, is returning to prison after playing in the Brazilian Cup.
According to İdman.Biz, the player signed a contract with "Vasco da Gama" on February 15 and played on February 20 in the 1/32 final match of the Brazilian Cup, in which his team lost to Velo Clube on penalties. The match took place in Rio Branco.
The court stated that Fernandes could not leave Rio de Janeiro without prior permission. For this violation, the judge concluded that the goalkeeper's behavior did not comply with the established rules and ordered him to be returned to prison in a semi-open regime.
In 2013, the goalkeeper, who was then a star and captain of "Flamengo", was sentenced to 22 years in prison. The court found him guilty of organizing the kidnapping and brutal murder of his ex-girlfriend, Eliza Samudio, who demanded alimony from him. The woman's body was dismembered, the pieces were fed to dogs, and the remains were sealed with concrete.
