"I congratulate my players. They showed character. The field was slippery due to the rainy weather. This created problems for us." These words were said by "Khankendi" coach Jeyhun Javadov in his statement to Sport24.az.
The young coach assessed the match against "Quba" in the first qualifying round of the Azerbaijan Cup yesterday as follows:
"Thank God, despite being behind in the score, we were able to win in the end. There were two different parts. We made rotations in the squad. We gave a chance to keep the players who did not play in the championship physically ready. I cannot say that the players who appeared in the starting lineup played poorly. They just created problems for us because they haven't played a game this season. We were able to turn the game around after the changes made in the second half. I brought the team to the field because our head coach Ibrahim Uzuncan was not with us for certain reasons. I won't hide it, there was excitement. The players showing character took away the excitement in me. Our next opponent in the cup is "Difai". We are not thinking about this match yet. A tough game against "Garadagh Lokbatan" awaits us in the next round of the championship. It is one of the important games on the way to the championship."
It should be noted that "Khankendi" secured a ticket to the second qualifying round by winning the match they played away with a score of 1:2.
