"Neftchi"'s Bosnian goalkeeper Kenan Pirić shared his first impressions of the team's main goals, the situation in the standings, and the new head coach Yuri Vernidub.
Idman.Biz reports that the 31-year-old goalkeeper gave an interview to Sportnet.az after the 2:2 draw with "Sumgayit" in the XV round of the Azerbaijan Premier League.
He stated that the team looked more disciplined in the first half of the match: "One of our main goals is to eliminate the 14-point difference we have with 'Sabah' so far. We want to win points. With the new head coach, our goal is to be at the top of the standings."
Pirić also emphasized that the new head coach Yuri Vernidub had a positive impact on the team's game: "One of the most different things I saw in this game was that we played disciplined in the first half. What made me happy was the good game we showed in the first half. If we can continue this in future matches, things can go better. In the second half, however, we lost our game. I'm upset about that. The game in the first half satisfied me. I think that the new head coach showing himself is one of his positive aspects."
