Kayrat Boranbayev, chairman of the supervisory board of the Kazakhstan club "Kayrat", explained the reason why the team's head coach position was entrusted to Rafael Urazbakhtin, and not to a foreign specialist.
Idman.Biz reports that Boranbayev said that this decision was based on years of work:
"First of all, Rafael was already a formed, mature athlete as a football player. He also played for the national team. He has been working in our club for ten years and has gone through all the stages during this time. A lot has changed in the club during these years, and he was inside all these changes.
Even when we invited foreign coaches, we always made sure that there was a local person representing the interests of the club. Rafael Radikovich worked with both Berdyev and Kerzhakov, so he gained great experience. Usually, the second coach knows more than the head coach in many matters."
It should be noted that under the leadership of Rafael Urazbakhtin, "Kayrat" reached the main stage of the UEFA Champions League for the first time in its history.
