The Danish goalkeeper is expected to undergo two surgeries due to a biceps muscle rupture, rotator cuff tear, and shoulder dislocation. According to initial forecasts, the recovery process will take 10-12 months.
The son of famous Danish goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel has admitted that he may not return to the green fields again due to the severity of the injury and his age. The 39-year-old goalkeeper also stated that he has been playing injured since last season, enduring severe pain, and is now suffering the consequences.
It should be noted that Kasper Schmeichel has played for Leicester, Manchester City (both England) and other well-known clubs during his career. He reached the semi-finals of EURO 2020 with the Danish national team.
