The first round of the 2025/26 Misli Premier League season was marked by the debut of two clubs. Sport24.az, referring to the official website of the Professional Football League, reports that the teams founded in 2022 – "Karvan-Yevlakh" and "Imishli" – debuted in the top division of the national championship.
Both debutants played their first match at home - at the Shamakhi City Stadium. The Yevlakh representative gained 1 point in the match against "Gabala" - 1:1. The Imishli club of the same name lost to "Turan Tovuz" with a score of 0:1.
Thus, the number of clubs participating in the championship held since 1992 has reached 63. In the previous 33 seasons, 61 teams competed in the top division.
Both teams are the 3rd club of their respective cities. Imishli was represented by "Lokomotiv" and "MKT-Araz", and Yevlakh by "Avtomobilchi" and "Karvan".
