Another footballer that "Kapaz" wants to keep in the team for the next season has been determined. According to information obtained by Sport24.az from a source in the Ganja representative office, head coach Azer Baghirov wants to see Olavale Onanuqa at his disposal in the 2026/2027 season as well, and has already conveyed this desire to the club management.
The 28-year-old midfielder, who returned to "Kapaz" again in the summer of 2025, has become one of the main figures of the "yellow-blues" this season. The Nigerian footballer has appeared in 22 matches (1 goal) in the Misli Premier League, and has participated in 2 games in the Bizon Azerbaijan Cup.
Onanuqa also fought for the success of the Ganja club before - in the 2023/2024 season. His current contract expires this summer.
According to reports, Azer Baghirov also intends to keep Ryonosuke Ohori and Diogo Verdasca, whose contracts have expired, in the team.
