On October 18, on the occasion of the Restoration of Independence Day, members of the "Kapaz" Professional Football Club visited the Ganja Memorial Complex. Sport24.az reports that first, the memory of our compatriots who were victims of Armenian terror during the 44-day Patriotic War, as well as the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the freedom of our lands, was commemorated with respect.
Later, the club members were given detailed information about the history of the complex and the terrorist incidents committed against civilians in different periods.
It should be noted that October 18 is one of the most remarkable days in Azerbaijani history. On October 18, 1991, the "Constitutional Act on State Independence" was adopted in the Supreme Soviet of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and the independence of our country was restored. Later, our state attributes – flag, anthem and coat of arms were approved.
In 2021, by the decision of the National Assembly, the name of this historical day was changed and declared the Day of Restoration of Independence.
