"We had a good game".
Idman.biz reports that Qarabag's football player Kadi Borges said this in his statement to AZERTAC, while talking about their promotion to the next round by defeating Ireland's Shelbourne club with a score of 4:0 based on the results of two games in the second qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League.
The 29-year-old midfielder stated that the successful start to the new season will have a positive impact on the team's future games: "It is true that at the beginning of each season, football players suffer to some extent. Because you have to regain your previous form. But we played well in the two matches we played with Shelbourne. We had goal chances in the return match. Unfortunately, I couldn't take advantage of the penalty. This is football, sometimes things happen that you don't want. I took the penalty on the instructions of Gurban Gurbanov."
The Brazilian football player also spoke about his goals in the Champions League: "The next stage will be difficult. We need to prepare well for the third round. We want to go further in this tournament."
In the next round, Aghdam club will face North Macedonia's Shkendija. Tetovo representative eliminated Romania's FCSB club in the second qualifying round. Shkendija, who beat their opponent with a minimal score in the first match in North Macedonia, also won the return match - 2:1.
It should be noted that the first matches of the third qualifying round will be held on August 5-6.
