Manchester City head coach Josep Guardiola has set an all-time anti-record in the Champions League after losing to Real Madrid (1-2) in the second leg of the round of 16. This was reported by Opta Sport, Sport24.az reports.
According to the source, Guardiola became the first coach in Champions League history to be defeated by the same team in three consecutive seasons. Previously, in the 2024/25 season, the Manchester team lost to Real Madrid in the play-offs (2-3 on aggregate), and in the 2023/24 season in the quarter-finals (4-4, 3-4 on penalties).
It should be noted that the "cityzens" stopped fighting in the Champions League after losing 5:1 on aggregate.
