According to Lent.az, citing foreign media, Benfica president Rui Costa made statements about the future of Portuguese coach Jose Mourinho, whose future at the club is being discussed.
Speaking to the Portuguese press, Rui Costa stated that they have no doubts about Mourinho, saying: "Unless there is a big surprise, we will continue with him next year. We fully trust him."
After leaving Fenerbahce, Mourinho started managing Benfica, and his contract with the Portuguese club runs until 2027. According to the agreement between Benfica and Jose Mourinho, both Benfica and Mourinho have the right to terminate the contract within 10 days after the final game of the 2025-26 season.
