Benfica head coach Jose Mourinho commented on the defeat to Newcastle (0:3) in the third round of the Champions League League stage. Sport24.az, citing Record, reports that the Portuguese specialist said that his team "broke down":
"There was a lack of goals in the first half. The game was even, but we had more chances. To get so many chances and not score... The result after the break was unfair.
Although the second half started in the same way, the opponent's second goal completely changed the course of the game. The team weakened psychologically, the difference is obvious. The team collapsed physically and psychologically. We conceded goals in the last 15-20 minutes that we didn't concede in the first half."
It should be noted that Benfica has no points after the third round.
