Benfica head coach Jose Mourinho has stated that if 20-year-old Argentine midfielder Gianluca Prestianni is found guilty of racially abusing Real Madrid forward Vinicius Junior, his career under his leadership will be "finished." Sport24.az reports that the Portuguese specialist made this statement to ESPN:
"If my player does not respect the principles of me and Benfica, then that footballer's career with a coach named Jose Mourinho and at a club named Benfica will be over. I am not a scientist, but I am not ignorant either. The presumption of innocence is a human right, isn't it? I stand by my opinion. If the player is really guilty, I will never look at him the same way again, and it's all over for him. But before that, there are many 'ifs'."
It should be noted that Vinicius accused the Benfica player of calling him a "monkey" during the Champions League play-off match between Benfica and Real Madrid.
