Jose Mourinho has admitted that his decision to move to Fenerbahce was a mistake.
Idman.biz reports that according to the 62-year-old specialist, the Turkish club did not match his level, and he is now happy to return to Benfica, as he can work with an elite team again.
"I made the wrong choice. I don't regret it, because regrets don't help in life, but we are aware of what we did right and what we did wrong. I made a mistake by moving to Fenerbahce - they were not my cultural level, not my football level. Of course, I gave my all until the last day, but working at Benfica puts me back among the best clubs in the world," said Mourinho.
The former head coach of Chelsea, Inter, Real Madrid, and Roma criticized Fenerbahce's transfer policy, noting that the club could not create balance in the squad. He emphasized that the situation at Benfica is different and highly appreciated the quality of the club's management of the transfer market.
Mourinho, who began his career at Benfica in 2000, will lead the team again in a league match against ABC. For the "eagles," who are in sixth place in the standings, this will be a chance to restart the season with one of the most titled coaches of our time.
