Inter Miami's star players Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets have ended their careers. Sport24.az reports that this happened after Inter Miami won the North American League championship by defeating Vancouver Whitecaps 3-1 in the final match of the MLS 2025 Cup playoffs.
Both Spanish footballers have played their last matches. 37-year-old Busquets announced that he would end his career in September 2025, while 36-year-old Alba would end his career in October. Both players intended to retire from football after the 2025 season.
Busquets, who started his career in 2008, played for Barcelona. After spending 15 seasons at the Catalan club, he signed a contract with Inter Miami in the summer of 2023. He has participated in 840 club games, scored 19 goals and made 62 assists.
Alba, a graduate of the Barcelona and Valencia academies, played for the A teams of both clubs. The defender has been wearing the Inter Miami uniform since 2023.
