The Swedish Football Association has decided to dismiss national team head coach Jon Dahl Tomasson.
Idman.Biz reports that Sweden lost 1-0 to Kosovo in their last match of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
"We have a group of players that we strongly believe in and want to create new opportunities for them. We believe that if this team can reach the play-off stage in March, they can qualify for the World Cup," the organization's official website said.
Sweden finished last in their 2026 World Cup qualifying group. The team has lost three matches and drawn one. The team will face Switzerland and Slovenia in their remaining matches.
Danish coach Jon Dahl Tomasson had been coaching the Swedish national team since March 2024.
