American businessman John Textor has sold his stake in Crystal Palace to his compatriot Woody Johnson. Sport24.az reports with reference to the BBC that the deal is worth approximately 225 million euros.
This is expected to increase Crystal Palace's chances of participating in the UEFA Europa League in the 2025/26 season.
Textor also owns a controlling stake in Lyon, another Europa League participant. According to UEFA rules, an investor cannot control more than one club in continental tournaments.
It should be noted that Crystal Palace qualified for the Europa League by winning the English Cup last season.
