Former Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel has harshly criticized the team's midfielder, Enzo Fernandez. This was due to the Argentine recently saying, "If the opportunity arises, I am ready to continue my career at Real." Sport24.az, citing Madrid Universal, reports that the Nigerian veteran footballer stated that Fernandez is not worthy of wearing the London club's jersey:
"This is Chelsea, not a springboard for a transfer to another team. If your heart is already in Madrid, you shouldn't wear the blue jersey. We at Chelsea played for the logo we carried on our chest, not for the opportunity to move elsewhere," we played for the badge."
It should be noted that Obi Mikel played for Chelsea from 2006 to 2017. As part of the London club, he won the Premier League twice, as well as four FA Cups, the Champions League and the Europa League.
