These words were said by Portuguese national team player Joao Simoyns in his statement to Idman.Biz after the 4:0 match against Azerbaijan in the qualifying round of the European Championship among football players under 21 years old.
According to Simoyns, after a 0:0 draw until the break, the team was determined to change the game:
"We knew that the Azerbaijani team defends well and they showed it. We were determined to continue trying to score and I'm glad we were able to do it."
He also noted that the heavy rain did not prevent the Portuguese team: "Two months ago, there were similar weather conditions in Portugal, so we were ready for it."
