Joao Felix, who plays for Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr, has admitted that he has repeatedly wanted to return to Benfica in the final years of his career.
Idman.Biz reports that the Portuguese footballer said in a statement on the subject that they did not want him at the club.
"To be completely honest, I wanted to return to Benfica for the last three summers. I have always wanted this and have told my agents many times. But I have never seen a serious desire from the club. I don't know who doesn't want it, but I have always wanted to come back," Felix said.
Felix said that the reason for the failure of the transfer was neither financial nor a salary issue:
"There is no talk of a transfer fee or a salary here. It just depended on the desire of the other party. It was not possible because this desire did not exist."
The Portuguese striker also emphasized that Al-Nassr showed him a more concrete and decisive interest.
