Joao Cancelo joined "Barcelona" on loan from Al-Hilal in the winter of 2026, and the head coach of the Catalan club, Hansi Flick, has made a decision regarding his role in the team.
According to Lent.az, citing foreign media, the German coach is satisfied with the Portuguese player's performance and plans to give him a place in the starting lineup, playing him in the main left-back position.
"Barcelona" is trying to reach an agreement with the Saudi Arabian club to extend the 31-year-old football player's loan period for another season, and the possibility of a permanent transfer in June 2026 is also being considered.
During his time at "Barcelona", Cancelo has played 13 games, scored one goal and made two assists.
