Barcelona club president Joan Laporta has made a statement regarding the voting process on presidential election day and the tensions during the election campaign.
Idman.Biz reports that Laporta has confirmed that team head coach Hansi Flick and the players will participate in the voting.
"Hansi and the players will vote after the match. As you know, Hansi, Deco, and Boyan were subjected to sharp and unfair attacks that they did not deserve. The result of the vote will be our victorious return to the land of justice. It is admirable to see how they endured this election campaign. Many people were attacked simply for defending me," Laporta said.
The president also highlighted the support of young star Lamine Yamal for the club:
"I love Lamine, what he does comes from the heart. I was the first to be surprised when I saw his sharing. He is a genius, I like him very much."
Speaking about other figures participating in the voting, Laporta did not hide his feelings:
"It was very nice to see Aitana Bonmati voting, Busquets coming here with his son. It was very impressive to meet Valero Rivera, who came from Qatar. In 2021, everything was under stricter control due to the pandemic. Today, people are coming to vote, demonstrating absolute civic responsibility. I can't control my emotions when I see the cranes at "Camp Nou." I had never seen anything like this in any previous election."
