Javier Tebas, the president of the Spanish La Liga, has made a statement regarding the tension in the country's football.
Idman.Biz reports that, according to Javier Tebas, "Barcelona" does not create tension in La Liga.
"In my opinion, the tension comes from Real Madrid. They are fighting with everyone - with Barcelona, with the referees, with everyone," he emphasized.
Tebas stated that Barcelona's actions were not appropriate in the past, and La Liga was the first to appeal to the prosecutor's office regarding this issue. However, according to him, it is fundamentally wrong to associate those events with today's penalties, and there is a huge difference between what was done then and the decisions made now:
"The idea is spreading that referee mistakes are supposedly the result of past events. This is not true, and it is precisely this thinking that creates constant tension. Tension regarding referees is further fueled every weekend through Real Madrid's television channel and the club president's statements. They are seriously disoriented."
Finally, the head of La Liga noted that he does not consider himself a suitable figure to act as an intermediary in this dispute, as he himself is the target of attacks.
