Former Spanish national team coach Javier Clemente said that if Barcelona's 18-year-old player Lamine Yamal does not change his behavior, he will not be able to maintain his current level of play for a long time. The Spanish expert spoke about this on the "Que T'hi Jugues" podcast:
"Yamal is a very good player. But his problem is that if he doesn't behave like an athlete in his personal life, he won't be able to stay at this level for long. It's obvious.
Opponents already know how Barcelona play, they understand that Yamal is capable of a lot. That is why they do not allow him to open his eyes much on the field. And since he is young, he quickly succumbs to sabotage and expresses unnecessary thoughts. Yamal will fall out of favor if he continues like this."
It should be noted that although Yamal took second place in the 2025 Ballon d'Or voting, he has been heavily criticized in recent months for his off-field behavior.
