"ASCO Arena" will be closed for renovation in May.
"Report" informs that the Secretary General of AFFA, Jahangir Farajullayev, said this at the Reporting Conference of the national association.
He noted that the sports facility will be used only by children and teenagers:
"Also, the stadium of "Karvan Yevlakh" will be adapted to modern standards."
He stated that new opportunities should be created for local football players to improve their quality in a competitive environment. According to the Secretary General, a special incentive program has been created for clubs that give chances to local football players:
"The main part of the funds collected from legionnaire fees will be distributed among the clubs that give the most playing time to local players. This year, that amount is approximately 2 million manats."
C.Farajullayev also clarified the structural changes in the field of refereeing. He emphasized that important tasks were given to the new chairman of the Referees Committee, Rahim Hasanov, and that the principle of objectivity will be the basis in administrative work.
Touching upon infrastructure issues, the Secretary General noted that within the framework of the state program, the Agsu stadium will be adapted to Premier League standards by the beginning of the next season. At the same time, a children's football center will be established in the complex of the Baku Olympic Stadium, and renovation work will begin there in May.
