Sport24.az reports that these words were said by Azerbaijani national team footballer Ismayil Ibrahimli.
The 27-year-old midfielder shared his thoughts on the friendly match against Hungary, which they lost 1:2 in Baku yesterday.
"We haven't been able to win in recent games either. We have no victory. The game against Hungary went well. We also had chances. We couldn't use them. I think we fought well."
The player spoke about the difference in level between the Latvian and Hungarian teams: "The Hungarians have famous players. But that's no excuse. Nevertheless, we fought well. We wanted to take advantage of the opportunities we had. But it didn't work out. There was also an opportunity at the last moment. But we couldn't turn it into a goal."
