The Iranian Football Federation has reconsidered its position regarding participation in the 2026 World Cup draw.
According to Idman.Biz, citing the Tehran Times, two representatives will go to Washington for the ceremony: national team head coach Amir Ghalenoei and Omid Jamali, head of the International Relations Department.
The Iranian delegation had previously refused to participate in the draw due to visa restrictions imposed by the United States. Several members of the delegation were not granted visas.
The 2026 World Cup will feature 48 teams for the first time. The tournament will be held in the USA, Canada and Mexico from June 11 to July 19. The draw will take place on Friday, December 5, 2025 in Washington.
