Representatives of the Iranian national football team will not attend the draw ceremony for the 2026 World Cup, which will be held in Washington on December 5.
Idman.Biz reports that the Football Federation of the Islamic Republic of Iran (FFIRI) has released information about this.
According to the federation, only four members of the Iranian delegation were granted visas by the US government, while the applications of others were rejected.
"We have informed the International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA) that the decisions taken have nothing to do with sports and that members of the Iranian delegation will not participate in the draw," the FFIRI said in a statement.
It should be noted that at the World Championship, in which 48 teams will compete, the national teams will be divided into 12 groups.
