Iranian Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs, Ahmad Donyamali, has made a statement to the media regarding the participation of the national football team in the 2026 World Cup, which will be held in the USA, Canada, and Mexico.
Idman.Biz reports that the minister emphasized the crucial role of security in his statement to "Tasnim News".
"If the safety of the athletes is ensured, the government will allow them to be sent to the World Cup, taking into account the situation in the country. We must support the national team's preparation and meet all logistical requirements.
The more the situation normalizes, the more likely we are to participate in the World Cup. The higher the tension, the more decisions we will have to make, taking into account a number of important factors," Donyamali emphasized.
