The US "Inter Miami" football club has definitively ruled out the possibility of Neymar joining Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez.
Idman.Biz reports that in recent weeks there has been serious talk that "Inter Miami" could go after Neymar, both due to the franchise's policy and after Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba ended their careers. However, the Florida representative gave a negative answer to the Brazilian's transfer in January.
The club's management, emphasizing sports principles, stated that the priority positions for 2026 - strengthening the defense and transferring a striker who will be a reference point ("number 9") - are more important.
With this decision, "Inter Miami" head coach Xavier Mascherano also lost the chance to work with Neymar.
Neymar is already aware of Inter Miami's position. He is waiting for his contract with the Brazilian club Santos to expire in December. Despite his long and serious injuries, his main goal is to get back in shape so that Carlo Ancelotti can call him up to the Brazilian national team and the last World Cup tournament of his career.
If Santos formalizes staying in the league in the last two rounds, the club is ready to extend Neymar's contract until the 2026 World Cup - for approximately 1.5 years.
After the 2026 World Cup, the 34-year-old Brazilian star's move to MLS already seems real. Neymar has a special interest in American football, and he has repeatedly stated that he would like to follow in the footsteps of Pele, whom he considers a great source of inspiration, and spend the end of his career in the USA, like him.
