Liverpool's forward, Hugo Ekitike, suffered a severe injury, putting his team in a difficult situation.
Idman.Biz reports, citing "Le Parisien", that the French forward tore his right Achilles tendon in the Champions League quarter-final match against PSG.
According to initial examinations, Ekitike, who is expected to be out for nine months due to the injury, will be sidelined until the beginning of 2027. This means he will not be able to participate in the 2026 World Cup.
The forward, who was transferred to Liverpool last summer for 95 million euros (190 million AZN), has been productive this season with 17 goals and six assists in 44 games, and had become one of the key players in the French national team.
