FIFA President Gianni Infantino has commented on the possible participation of the Iranian national team in the World Cup. Sport24.az reports that the head of the supreme football body said in a statement to "El Financiero":
"We are aware of the difficult situation the Iranian national team is in. We are working on it. We will do everything we can to ensure that the World Cup is held in the best possible way. But right now, we only have Plan A for Iran, there is no alternative."
The World Cup will be held in the USA, Mexico and Canada. Iran has stated that it can only participate in the tournament if its games are scheduled in Mexico.
