FIFA President Gianni Infantino has spoken about the participation of the Iranian national team in the 2026 World Cup.
Idman.Biz reports that Infantino announced that Iran will participate in the 2026 World Cup and will hold their group stage matches in the USA as originally planned.
"Iran will be in the World Cup. We are very happy because they are a very, very strong team. I am very happy. I saw the team, I spoke with the players and the coach, so everything is fine. According to the draw, Iran's matches will be played where they are supposed to be played," Infantino told The Guardian.
Some time ago, the President of the Iranian Football Federation, Mehdi Taj, announced that the organization was negotiating to move Iran's 2026 World Cup matches from the USA to Mexico.
