FIFA President Gianni Infantino has spoken about awarding the FIFA Peace Prize to US President Donald Trump. Sport24.az reports that the award was presented to the country's president during the draw for the 2026 World Cup.
Infantino said it was a great honor and joy for him:
"It was a great honor and joy for me to present the first FIFA Peace Prize to US President Donald Trump. Thanks to his superior leadership and activities, his contributions to a peaceful and united world are invaluable.
Football symbolizes peace, unity and solidarity. We highly appreciate the exceptional and exemplary activities of the US President in promoting peace and unity in the world.
I thank President Trump for his work. He can always count on the support of me and the entire football community."
