FIFA President Gianni Infantino has spoken about the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Sport.az reports that he compared the matches of the 2026 World Cup to the "Super Bowl" (the annual league championship game of the US National Football League (NFL).
It has been held as the final game of every NFL season since 1966):
"The 2026 World Cup, which will be hosted by 3 countries, 16 cities, and competed by 48 teams, will be the biggest and most comprehensive World Cup in history. A total of 104 "Super Bowls" will be held in just one month.
The 2026 World Cup is a great opportunity to make football the number one sport in the USA and Canada."
It should be noted that the 2026 World Cup will be held in the USA, Canada and Mexico from June 11 to July 19.
