Increasing the number of clubs in the Misli Premier League depends on the readiness level of potential candidates.
"Report" reports that this was stated by AFFA President Rovshan Najaf at a press conference.
According to the head of the national association, increasing the number of teams is in principle a matter of discussion:
"However, the main issue here is the readiness of the infrastructure. We must correctly assess which clubs can potentially perform and their infrastructure. Our goal is to fully resolve the stadium issue for all clubs that will compete in the championship."
According to him, competitiveness and quality are prioritized when making decisions:
"It should not be that some clubs are given concessions for the sake of increasing numbers, and this disrupts the overall balance. We are trying to increase both the sustainability of football and the efficiency of the infrastructure. This is a very delicate balance."
The AFFA president reminded that this topic is on the agenda of the Executive Committee:
"We have been discussing this issue for a long time. It is planned to make relevant decisions on this at one of the next meetings of the Executive Committee."
