After the match of the first round of the Misli Premier League "Imishli" - "Turan Tovuz" (0:1), the head coach of the home team, Horhe Kaskilya, answered questions from journalists. Sport24.az reports that the expert first shared his thoughts on the meeting...
– We played well. The defense played well. It's hard to concede goals in the last minutes. It's frustrating. This is football. In the first half, the game was in the middle of the field. The teams were discovering each other. In the second half, we played better tactically, we had chances. In the last minutes, the injury of our goalkeeper and defender affected the game. We had difficulties in extra time and conceded a goal.
– Your main players are injured. It seems that goalkeeper Sinenko's condition is more serious. Are you thinking of a transfer instead of him?
– We will wait, we will decide what to do after we know the latest situation. We hope they will return soon. We are not thinking about the transfer.
– "Turan Tovuz" usually scored winning goals in the last minutes last season. Were you aware of this?
– Of course, we analyzed the games. We knew that the opponent was playing aggressively and preferred long passes.
– You made your debut in the Premier League. What are your first impressions?
– I watched it before coming here. There are 4-5 level teams in Azerbaijan and the championship is at a good level. There are legionnaires in the clubs, there is good competition. The level is good. The first impressions are pleasant.
– Do you believe you can handle the Premier League?
– I want to achieve results here, to show my professionalism. My team was tactically good in the first game. It is possible to win with "Imishli".
– When you were appointed to the club, there were some criticisms that you worked in the lower league. Were you aware of these?
– I am not interested in such comments. My main focus is on my team being good. We are working on it. Today we played normally against a team that wants to play for the championship, and we showed better football in the second half. This means that the coach's tactics work.
– Although the team represents Imishli, it is preparing in Baku and playing in Shamakhi. How does this affect you and have you encountered such situations in your coaching career?
– Despite the problems, the main goal is to work on the team. Such factors do not have a big impact. True, we would like to play in our native region, but the management is dealing with these issues. Our job is with the team. This is the first time in my career that this has happened. I also thank our fans, they have come a long way. They didn't leave us alone. We are grateful to them. We promise that we will be more ready for the game with "Neftchi".
