"Imishli" club has appealed to CAS (Court of Arbitration for Sport), which operates in Switzerland, against the decision of the AFFA Disciplinary Committee.
Idman.Biz reports, citing prosport.az, that this is the first precedent in the history of Azerbaijani football when a club appealed to CAS against the decision of AFFA.
Currently, the lawyer of "RDC Group", the sponsor of "Imishli", is dealing with this issue in CAS.
It should be noted that the AFFA Disciplinary Committee canceled the 1:0 victory of the nominal hosts in the "Imishli" - "Sumgayit" match of the fourth round of the Misli Premier League, held on September 13 at the stadium of the Guba Olympic Sports Complex, and imposed a technical defeat of 0:3 and a fine of 5,000 manats. The reason given was that Ibrahim Aliyev, whose name was not in the protocol, entered the game in the 67th minute.
Later, "Imishli" appealed this decision to the Appeals Arbitration Tribunal (AAT) operating within AFFA. However, on October 31, the AAT also upheld the decision of the Disciplinary Committee without changing it.
