"Neftchi" is one of the ambitious clubs in the championship. They have a team consisting of high-level players. We wanted to build the game from defense and be sharp on counterattacks. Our game didn't work out at the beginning of the match." These words were said by MOIK's head coach Ilham Yadullayev in his statement to Sport24.az.
The 47-year-old specialist commented on the match with "Neftchi" in the II qualifying round of the Azerbaijan Cup:
"We came to our senses towards the end of the first half. We made changes at the beginning of the second half, we tried to press in attack. This also paid off, we scored the second goal. Again, we did not retreat, we tried to gain an advantage in the midfield, we had chances. It is very difficult to play against a team like "Neftchi". There is a difference in level between the leagues. This is especially noticeable in a match against a rival like "Neftchi". The squads have quality legionnaires and players from our national team. This game is a great experience for us. It will help us in a good way in the championship games. At the end of the first half, the players in the dressing room had confidence that we could play. We will try to transfer this confidence to the First League games."
It should be noted that the match ended with a 6:2 victory for "Neftchi".
