Igor Ponomaryov, sports director of "Sabah", evaluated the team's potential opponents in the first qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League.
In a statement to "Report", he emphasized that the Ukrainian club "Shakhtar" is more experienced.
"There are no easy opponents in European Cups. Each of the potential rivals has a lot of experience. Of course, "Shakhtar" is more experienced and well-known compared to other potential rivals. However, regardless of the opponent, the team must enter the field only to win. This is football, and there must be ambitions," the club official said.
It should be noted that the potential rivals of the capital's representative are "Shakhtar" (Donetsk, Ukraine), "Sheriff" (Moldova), "Celje" (Slovenia) and "Spartak" (Trnava, Slovakia).
The round's draw ceremony will begin today at 17:00 Baku time in Nyon, Switzerland. "Sabah" will play its first match in the first qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League on July 10, and the return match on July 17.
