The last match of "Real Madrid" in the Spanish Super Cup was decisive for head coach Xabi Alonso.
Lent.az reports with reference to foreign media that it is about the match with "Atletico Madrid", in which "Real" won 2:1 at home on January 8.
According to reports, if "Real Madrid" had lost that match, Alonso would have had no chance of staying in his position. After the victory over "Atletico Madrid", the situation for the team improved significantly. Now "Real Madrid" will face "Barcelona" in the final of the Spanish Super Cup. "Barcelona" defeated "Athletic Bilbao" in the semi-finals of the tournament.
The final match of the Spanish Super Cup is scheduled for January 11 and will be held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, at the "King Abdullah Sports City" stadium.
