"Neftchi's" match with "Qarabagh" will not be played if it is postponed, otherwise the match will take place.
"Report" informs that these thoughts were expressed by "Neftchi"'s head coach Yuri Vernidub at a press conference after the match against "Gabala" in the XIX round of the Misli Premier League.
The expert commented on the issue of postponing the game between "Neftchi" and "Qarabagh", which has been discussed in the press in recent days:
"If I am told that the game is being postponed, we will not play. If it is not postponed, of course, we will go out and play our game. 12 teams are competing in the Azerbaijan Premier League. We are one of them, and the remaining 11 teams are considered our rivals. Every match is equally important to me. It doesn't matter if the opponent is "Qarabagh", "Sumgayit" or "Kapaz". My main goal is to win every game, and that is exactly the task I have been given."
Y.Vernidub stated that they showed a good game in the first half of the match with "Gabala":
"We opened the score and had opportunities to score the second goal. "Gabala" had almost no goal episodes. What happened in the second half was more related to psychological factors. The team had not been able to win in this stadium for a long time. Because we were ahead in the score, the players probably preferred to defend more. This is not the football we want to play. We were expecting a better quality game on the field. Before the match, I told the players that today's victory is important for us to continue our journey. They coped with this task and I thank the team for that. Games can be forgotten, but the result always remains in memory."
It should be noted that the "Neftchi" - "Gabala" match ended with a 1:0 victory for the Baku team.
