A player from the Icelandic national team, Azerbaijan's first opponent in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, has changed clubs. Sport24.az reports that forward Andri Gudjohnsen has not stayed at the Belgian club "Gent".
The 23-year-old striker has agreed with "Blackburn". The Icelandic forward has signed a 3-year contract with the Championship representative.
It should be noted that the Icelandic national team will host Azerbaijan on September 5. They will be visiting France on September 9.
