Former "Neftchi" player Kirill Petrov recalled the time he played in Baku, Azerbaijan.
QOL.az reports that the 34-year-old striker, who wore the uniform of the capital club in 2017-2019, spoke about it in an interview with ukrfootball.ua. He said:
"I can say that I am happy to have spent so much time in Azerbaijan. I played in the Europa League. We only lost to "Qarabag" once. I made good friends there. Azerbaijan is a good country. Baku and its people are beautiful. I only have positive emotions left from Azerbaijan."
K.Petrov said that there was a good relationship between his teammates: "Everyone in the team was friendly. There were also legionnaires from distant countries. Even if we didn't understand each other well, we found a language to joke with. Sometimes we spent our free time together. We had an Italian coach who gathered us for team feasts. They allowed us to drink a glass of beer or a glass of wine. But since Muslims were not allowed, we sat at different tables with them. The best coach I have worked with is Roberto Bordini. I played under him as the head coach of "Neftchi".
