In 2022, Bayern Munich attempted to sign Barcelona academy players Lamine Yamal and midfielder Gavi. This was reported by İdman.biz, citing Bild.
According to the publication, the Munich club was unable to acquire Yamal because he was not yet 16 years old. Bayern offered the player's parents 5 million euros to move to Germany, but Yamal wanted to stay in Catalonia. Gavi also decided not to leave the Spanish club.
This summer, Lamine Yamal and Barcelona signed a new contract until 2031. Last season, the winger scored 18 goals and provided 21 assists for the club. The Transfermarkt internet portal estimates the player's market value at 200 million euros.
