After the "Liverpool" football club approached the representatives of the Spanish coach Xabi Alonso about possible cooperation, they received a positive response from those around him.
Lent.az, referring to foreign media, reports that representatives of the English club confirmed that Alonso is ready to consider offers, despite taking a break from working after leaving Real. The Spanish specialist is in no hurry to make a decision, but understands that he will be welcomed by the team.
It is reported that "Liverpool" is considering the Spanish specialist as a candidate for the upcoming seasons, including the 2026/27 season. The club management intends to keep the current head coach Arne Slot until the end of this season.
Alonso is 44 years old. During his playing career, he played for Liverpool from 2004 to 2009.
As a coach, the Spanish specialist headed Bayer Leverkusen from October 2022 to May 2025, and then Real from June 2025.
He was sent to resign in January. Under his leadership, the team played 34 games, won 24, drew 4 and lost 6.
